What data we collect and how we use it

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what information Trend Snap collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, please write to us via the contact page and we will revise the wording.

1. Information we collect

Trend Snap is largely a read-only product. When you browse the site, our servers receive standard HTTP request data: the page you requested, your IP address, browser type and version, and a referer header if your browser sent one. We use this data to operate the site, troubleshoot bugs, and detect abuse such as scraping or denial-of-service traffic.

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we additionally collect your email address and the timestamp of your subscription. We use a double opt-in flow — your email is not activated until you click the confirmation link we send to it — and we never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, grouped into the following categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (for example, persisting your theme preference). These cannot be disabled.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to deliver, measure, and personalise the ads you see. See section 4 below.

You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings. Disabling advertising cookies will not break the site; ads (if shown) will simply be less relevant.

3. Analytics

When we run analytics, we use server-side aggregation that does not link page views to individuals. We do not embed third-party tracking scripts beyond what is required to serve advertising (next section).

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

Trend Snap displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

For more details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's ad policies.

5. Your rights (GDPR, LGPD, and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the email address on the contact page; we will respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days, then aggregated or deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe (a one-click link is included in every email).

7. Children

Trend Snap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
